About Denis Burns
Denis Burns is a New Mexico native. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class at the University of Colorado with an accounting and finance emphasis. Later, he completed the Masters of Science in accounting with an emphasis in taxation from Texas Tech University.
Prior to establishing The Burns Firm, Mr. Burns worked exclusively in the Federal Income Tax division of a “Big Four” accounting firm. His experience includes tax, accounting, business valuation and compliance for corporations, individuals, trusts, estates and partnerships in a wide variety of industries.
Responsibilities
The Tax and Accounting practice as well as the Business Valuation and Litigation Support and Merger and Acquisition services are directed by Mr. Burns, who works closely with growth-oriented businesses and individuals nationwide.
Mr. Burns served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Business Brokers at the local level, and also served on the state board as Treasurer. He is a member of the Dallas Bankruptcy Bar Association and is active in working with creditors or debtors in bankruptcy or business litigation matters.
Mr. Burns is a member of the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and a founding member of the Litigation Section of the Texas Society of CPA’s.
